PUBLIC NOTICE
BOARD OF REVISION
Public Notice is hereby given that the 2027 Assessment Roll for the Rossburn Municipality has been delivered to the office of the Rossburn Municipality, 43 Main Street North, in the Town of Rossburn, Manitoba and is open for public inspection during regular business hours from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
Applications for revision may be made in accordance with sections 42 and 43 of The Assessment Act. Applications are available at the Municipal Office.
APPLICATION FOR REVISION
42(1) A person in whose name property has been assessed, a mortgagee in possession of property under subsection 114(1) of The Real Property Act, an occupier of premises who is required under the terms of a lease to pay the taxes on the property, the authorized agent of the person, mortgagee or occupier, or the assessor may make application for the revision of an assessment roll with respect to the following matters:
(a) liability to taxation;
(b) amount of an assessed value;
(c) classification of property;
(d) a refusal by an assessor to amend the assessment roll under subsection 13(2).
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
43(1) An application for revision must
(a) be made in writing;
(b) set out the roll number and legal description of the assessable property for which a revision is sought;
(c) state the grounds on which the application is based; and
(d) be filed by:
i) delivering it or causing it to be delivered to the office indicated in the public notice given under subsection 41(2) or
ii) serving it upon the secretary of the board, at least fifteen (15) before the scheduled sitting date of the Board as indicated in the public notice.
The Board of Revision for the Rossburn Municipality will sit on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 12:30 pm in Rossburn Council Chambers, 43 Main Street N, Rossburn, Manitoba.
Please note that the final date on which applications must be received by the Secretary of the Board is Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 5:00 pm. Canada Post mail, e-mail or office drop-off are the options for filing an application.
